Learning Objectives

A qualitative on-line learning process is streamlined,, in other words assignments, supervision and assessment is together supporting the learning process.  In student centered learning, the learning objectives are described from the student’s point of view and besides the learning objectives the student is able to develop their generic skills like problem solving, collaboration skills and information retrieval.

An on-line learning environment emphasizes the need to clearly explain the learning objectives so that the student understands them and can direct their work input to the relevant tasks. For example, you can indicate how much time should be spent on each part of the course. The learning objectives can be opened up by for example explaining them with easier words and giving examples. To describe the learning objectives in a concrete and easily understandable way supports the student’s self-assessment.
