Why is naming courses important?
The course names have to be clear and unique to help students discover and distinguish:
- Courses of (almost) the same name from different universities / projects
- Different (semester / year) implementation of the same course
- To prevent (accidentally or not) joining the wrong course (which may cause clutter for the course teacher).
- Begin with the university / project identifier e.g. UEF or KiVAKO
- Then use a colon :
- Follow with the course name and the number of credits and / or the course level identifier (e.g. A1)
- End it with the year, academic year or semester and any course number or other identifier (e.g. 2019-1)
- Begin with the university / project identifier, e.g. UEF or KiVAKO
- The use a colon :
- Follow with the course abbreviation and a colon
- End with the year and the distinctive number or other identifier for the course
