Managing tools


You can find the managing tools on the right side of the course pages

Turn editing on

Changes to the course structure, i.e. changing activities, adding or removing anything, is done by turning the editing option on. When you activate the editing option each activity will have a edit button and a edit section option. At the bottom of each activity field, you will find a button "+ Add an activity or resource" .

To change content, press the edit button and options for editing will appear.

Edit settings


You can edit the course settings by pressing the Edit settings button on the managing tools toolbar. Note. this option will let you edit settings for the entire course, if you wish to edit the settings of an activity you should press the Edit button next to the activity you wish to edit.


The edit course settings page provides comprehensive options including; control of appearance, visibility, file size, performance and groups.


Hide course


The course may be visible or hidden from students. When the course is visible it can be found, for example, with the search function. It is advisable to hide the course in the design phase and make it visible only after all content in the course area has been added and tested. 


Set enrolment key



Self-registration for a course may be allowed to students with the course key. Students enrol themselves

Participants

The participants feature allows you to add people to the course and modify their permissions. Read more about Managing a Moodle site.

Course grading

This feature allows you to define and modify settings related to the course area assignments and exam assignments. More information about course grading.

View as student

When planning a course, it is useful to see what the course area looks like to students. The teacher and student perspective can be very different, so it is a good idea to test the course area and its functionality and exams from the students perspective before publishing the course to students using this feature. Remember to return your role after the testing phase.
